This site is dedicated to the memory of Douglas Greenland.

Douglas Greenland was born in Birmingham on July 24, 1925 and died peacefully in his sleep on 22nd June 2014 following a fall. His wife, Shirley, children Tim, Topsy and Rachael, and grandsons Rob and Mike have asked for memories and stories about Douglas to be added here, and donations be made to either the RNLI or SSAFA instead of flowers. After leaving Oundle and completing training, Douglas become a Captain in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment, 7th Division travelling to Nigeria and Burma. After leaving th army, he joined TI Stainless Tubes in Walsall starting as rolling mill under-manager, later to become personnel manager. He joined Collins in Birmingham as chairman (architectural ironmongers) which is how we had so many brass hinges. In 1978 he and his family moved to Pembrokeshire where Douglas set up Pembrokeshire Crafts, making oak furniture. Retirement then took Shirley and Douglas to Leominster where they have remained to date. He is much loved and will always be remembered by all his friends and family, and those who had to avoid him when on his scooter..
